Data Protection Notice for Customers

This notice sets out how GreenVenture Skills Hub Pte. Ltd. (“GVSH”) collects, uses, discloses and processes personal data under Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). It covers personal data in GVSH’s possession or control, including data held by engaged third parties.

Definitions

“Customer” means an individual who has contacted GVSH about goods or services, or who has or may enter into a contract with GVSH. “Personal data” means data, whether true or not, about an identifiable customer. Examples collected include name, residential address, email address, telephone number and photograph.

Collection, Use and Disclosure

Personal data is not generally collected unless (a) it is provided voluntarily, directly or via an authorised representative, after the customer has been notified of the purposes and has given written consent, or (b) collection or use without consent is permitted or required by the PDPA or other law. Purposes include: providing requested goods and services; identity verification; handling queries, requests, applications, complaints and feedback; managing the customer relationship; processing payment and credit transactions; complying with laws, regulations and codes and assisting law enforcement; any other notified purpose; transmission to unaffiliated third parties (service providers, agents, regulators, in Singapore or abroad) for the above purposes; and incidental business purposes connected with the above. These purposes continue to apply for a reasonable period after the relationship ends.

Legitimate Interests Exception

GVSH may collect, use or disclose personal data without consent for legitimate interests where those interests outweigh likely adverse effects, including: fraud detection and prevention; detection and prevention of misuse of services; network analysis to prevent fraud and financial crime and perform credit analysis; and collection and use of personal data on company-issued devices to prevent data loss.

Withdrawing Consent

Withdrawal of consent must be made in writing or by email to our Data Protection Officer. GVSH aims to process such requests within ten (10) business days. GVSH may be unable to continue providing services once consent is withdrawn and will notify the customer of the consequences. Withdrawal does not override collection, use and disclosure permitted or required under applicable law.

Access and Correction

Requests for access to personal data, information on how it is used or disclosed, or correction, may be submitted in writing or by email to the Data Protection Officer. A reasonable fee may be charged for access requests (notified in advance). GVSH aims to respond within thirty (30) business days; if unable, a written estimate of the response time will be provided within that period. If GVSH cannot provide data or make a correction, the customer will generally be informed of the reasons, unless not required under the PDPA.

Protection of Personal Data

GVSH applies administrative, physical and technical measures including: minimised collection of personal data; authentication and access controls; encryption; up-to-date antivirus protection; regular operating system and software patching; secure erasure of storage media before disposal; web security measures; and regular security review and testing. No internet transmission or electronic storage is fully secure; GVSH strives to protect personal data but cannot guarantee absolute security.

Accuracy and Retention

Customers are asked to inform the Data Protection Officer if personal data changes, so records remain current and accurate. Personal data is retained only as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required or permitted by law, after which it is removed or anonymised.

Transfers Outside Singapore

GVSH generally does not transfer personal data outside Singapore. If it does, GVSH will obtain consent and ensure a standard of protection comparable to the PDPA.
