Target Audience

The primary target audience is migrant workers in Singapore from all sectors, who has challenges basic conversation in English.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Use formal and informal greetings correctly.
  • Practice introducing yourself and others.
  • Ask for and give basic personal information like their name and origin.
  • Practice spelling names clearly to avoid misunderstandings.
  • Learn common phrases for saying goodbye and expressing politeness.
  • Build confidence for social interactions and communication in Singapore.

 

Course Outline

This course is structured into 3-hour of five modules, totaling 15 hours of instruction.

This Basic English Course is designed to help migrants learn essential English skills for everyday communication. Our focus is on practical language use to help you navigate daily life, work, and community activities with confidence.

Course Modules & Structure

The full course duration is 15 hours, with each module taking 3 hours.

Module Topic Focus
Module 1      Alphabets and Numbers Alphabets, vowels, and consonants.
Module 2 Basic Vocabulary Nouns, Singular & Plural Forms, and common workplace abbreviations.
Module 3 Sentence Structure & Tenses Basic Sentence Structure, Present, Past, and Future Simple Tenses.
Module 4 Listening Skills Active listening, understanding simple instructions, announcements, and safety guidelines.
Module 5 Speaking Skills Basic greetings, asking for help, giving instructions, and social conversations.

Course Fee $180 (for the full 15-hour course)
Class Size (Pax) 12 – 15 Pax
Total Duration 15 Hours (3 hours per module)
Frequency Conducted weekly (every week) to ensure continuous learning.
Schedule Options (Choose ONE)
    • Module 1 to 3:
    • Weekday Schedule 2 – Tuesday, Thursday, Monday, Wednesday  and Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. ( Full modules covered)
    • Weekday schedule 1 -Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. ( Only cover Module 1, Module 2 , Module 3)
    • Module 4: Sunday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
    • Module 5: Sunday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
    • Sunday Weekend Classes :Weekend Class Schedule (2.5 Sundays):
      • 1st Sunday:
        • Module 1: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
        • Module 2: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
      • 2nd Sunday:
        • Module 3: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
        • Module 4: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
      • 3rd Sunday (Half Day):
        • Module 5: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Frequency: Conducted Weekly to ensure continuous learning opportunities

Make-Up Classes:
If you miss a class, don’t worry! You can join the same module in an upcoming session within 3 months from your enrollment date to catch up without missing out.

Learning Outcomes
